Conscious Discipline integrates into every part of a child’s day. It is a comprehensive self-regulation program that integrates social-emotional learning and discipline utilizing every day events as the curriculum and addressing the adult’s emotional intelligence as well as the child’s. Conscious Discipline empowers adults, both staff and parents, to consciously respond to daily conflict, transforming it into an opportunity to teach critical life skills to children. It teaches children:

    The life skill of anger management, calming down, self regulation, gratification delay and the value of integrity.
  • Encouragement: 
    The skill of kindness, caring, and helpfulness and value of optimism and gratitude
  • Assertiveness: 
    The skill of bully prevention and value of respect for self and others

    The life skill of impulse control and goal achievement and value of persistence
  • Empathy: 
    The skill of emotional regulation and perspective, taking, and the value of honoring and honestly
