Last week, MLS celebrated Language & Literacy Week, and it was a beautiful reminder of how language brings our community together. Learners from KG2 to Grade 12 participated in engaging activities across all four of our school languages — English, Arabic, French, and Spanish — with enthusiastic support from our parents.
Families joined us for our joyful Book Character Parade & Fashion Show, where students proudly dressed as their favorite literary characters. Throughout the morning, learners explored a variety of Language & Literacy Stations that encouraged creativity, storytelling, and multilingual expression.
A highlight of the week was our schoolwide DEAR (Drop Everything and Read) moment, when the entire MLS community paused to read together, a powerful celebration of our shared love for books. The PTA Book Drive also brought excitement as families added new stories to their home libraries.
Language & Literacy Week was a wonderful success, filled with creativity, connection, and a deep appreciation for the power of reading. Thank you to our students, teachers, and families for making this celebration so special! 🌟
