Riyadh is the capital and largest city in Saudi Arabia, with a population of 5.7 million. It is situated in the center of the Arabian Peninsula on a large plateau. One of the things that surprises newcomers to Riyadh is the amount of English that exists. Most of the people you will come in contact with will speak some English. Road signs and building names are in English, and food items in our expansive grocery stores are in English. There are a number of modern malls containing familiar stores that cater to your every shopping need.
