Welcome to the High School program at Makers Learning School, where we believe that this phase is not just a culmination of learning, but a pivotal journey of self-discovery and preparation for the world beyond. High School is a chapter where students explore, uncover their strengths, and cultivate aspirations that propel them toward a future brimming with opportunities.
At Makers Learning School's High School, we are dedicated to nurturing students who are not just academically adept, but equipped with the skills, knowledge, and real-world insights needed to thrive. Join us in guiding students through this transformative journey, where they will emerge as confident, globally aware individuals ready to embrace the boundless opportunities ahead.
At MLS, High School is a bridge that connects academic excellence with real-world experiences. We understand that preparing for life beyond school requires more than classroom knowledge. Our approach blends rigorous academics with hands-on learning, discussions about current events, engaging in Model United Nations (MUN), hosting guest speakers, internships, and service learning opportunities. Through these experiences, students gain a holistic understanding of the world and develop the skills they need to succeed
The MLS High School curriculum mirrors our commitment to diverse learning. Anchored in American Common Core standards and the Aero framework, our curriculum allows students to delve into various subjects that ignite their passions and enrich their critical thinking skills. As students navigate this phase, they are presented with the opportunity to explore various learning areas, laying the foundation for well-rounded growth
At MLS, our commitment to education extends far beyond classroom walls. We firmly believe in enriching our students' experiences through both international and local explorations. Our innovative Week Without Walls program and grade-level international trips offer transformative journeys, cultivating global citizenship and broadening perspectives. These experiences range from engaging in meaningful service trips to embracing diverse cultures and viewpoints. Notably, we proudly became the first Saudi school to join England's O2 program, a testament to our pioneering spirit. This year, we're thrilled to uphold this tradition with an upcoming MUN trip to Washington DC, fostering empathy, teamwork, and real-world learning
Our High School curriculum encompasses Language & Literature with Model United Nations (MUN), Math, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Art, Physical Education, and Technology & Makerspace. Students can also choose to embark on a journey of linguistic discovery by opting for Mandarin or French as a Foreign Language. Beyond the core subjects, our curriculum includes introductory courses in Psychology and Business with Economics. High School students also engage in Service Learning and Professional Skills, providing them with a holistic foundation for their future endeavors
