I'm Aishling Dean, and I'm proud to be the Head of Elementary and Technology at MLS. This is my fourth year at MLS, and I look forward to connecting, learning, and growing with our learners and school family.

I pursued my Bachelor's and Master’s of Education in the UK, which laid the foundation for my deep-rooted commitment to fostering exceptional learning experiences. Currently, I am pursuing a Doctorate of Education at the University of Sheffield, furthering my dedication to advancing educational practices and theories. I am also currently in the process of completing my National Professional Qualification for Headship, a transformative journey that I share with a cohort of exceptional principals from across the globe. This collaborative effort fuels my aspiration to lead by example, to inspire and learn from educators around the world, and to champion the growth of each individual within our MLS community.

I'm proud to be a Google Certified Trainer and Coach, a distinction that reflects my dedication to leveraging technology to enhance learning outcomes. My commitment to staying at the forefront of educational technology allows me to empower both our educators and students to thrive in an increasingly digital world.

Together, let us continue to foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and compassion in education. I look forward to being a part of your child's educational journey here at MLS!

MLS Staff

With a background in Business and a career in Human Resources, my passion for connecting with people naturally led me to the realm of education. Enhancing my MBA with a Master's in Educational Leadership, I've showcased my expertise through a variety of roles at MLS over an enriching span of 12 years. Currently serving as the Head of Kindergarten and the MLS Parent Liaison, this diverse journey has honed my ability to engage effectively with both adults and children.

I must admit, young learners ignite the child within me, and witnessing their growth over time brings immeasurable joy. I take immense pride in considering myself a lifelong learner, firmly believing that the potent blend of education and a nurturing, positive environment sets the stage for the upcoming generation to thrive in our competitive, intricate, and ever-evolving world. Each day, month, and year adds to my learning odyssey – meeting new individuals, understanding their narratives, and forging authentic connections.

Challenges invigorate me, providing the creative spark to think beyond conventions – a principle that resonates in my office with the phrase, "Everything is figureoutable!" As the journey unfolds, I remain committed to enriching lives and creating a meaningful impact through education.

Mariona Coderch:

MS/HS Head of Department

MLS Staff

After years of pursuing a successful career in communication and marketing, I sought a more meaningful life path as an educator. I hold a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education Specialized in Humanities from Universidad de Navarra. I am currently very excited to be serving as MS/HS Head of Department at Makers Learning School International, where we empower thoughtful and independent visionaries to create a better world.

Previously, I served as IB Career-related Programme (IBCP) Coordinator at an international school in Dubai after leading the school through accreditation to launch the IBCP. In addition to career-related pathways in business and creative media, I introduced the prestigious Embry Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) Dual Enrollment pathway for students wishing to pursue studies in Aeronautics, Aviation, Aviation Maintenance, Engineering, STEM or Unmanned Vehicles, which enables students to earn American university credits in their last two years of school. This partnership is the first of its kind in the Middle East.

I am also an IBEN Evaluation Programme Leader and Workshop Facilitator as well as an experienced IB Diploma Programme Psychology Assistant Examiner. As a passionate educator, I also enjoy teaching DP Psychology and Theory of Knowledge as well as CP Personal and Professional Skills. I have also taught MYP Individuals & Societies, as well as American curriculum Social Studies. As an advocate of service learning and the importance of giving back to others, I also held the Community Service Coordinator role at an American international school in Barcelona.

I believe that schools should open doors for students and provide tools for them to be successful in whatever pathway they choose. Growing up as a third culture kid myself, between Dallas and Barcelona, I strongly identify with my students and enjoy building meaningful relationships with them.

Sally Said:

PYP Coordinator

MLS Staff

I joined Makers Learning School (MLS) in August 2022 as the PYP Coach and Head of the Elementary Division, bringing with me a wealth of experience in education. Over the past 27 years, my journey has taken me from being a homeroom teacher for PreK to Grade 6 to serving as a Deputy PYP Coordinator.

For the past two decades, I have been deeply committed to the principles of the IB philosophy, focusing on teaching through inquiry and empowering learners to follow their passions. During this time, I've had the privilege of working as an IB Network Leader and PYP Exhibition Leader for the last ten years. My dedication to education led me to pursue a Master's in Leadership from Harvard, which has allowed me to focus on whole-school development and PYP Authorization for IB schools.

My core belief is that every learner possesses the potential to achieve their goals when provided with the right guidance and support. As a lifelong learner myself, I understand that curiosity and enthusiasm are at the heart of personal growth and development. I am committed to transforming every opportunity into a teachable moment, empowering learners to cultivate open-mindedness, care, and a commitment to lifelong learning.
