Excellence in Innovation: MLS Takes Home Top Honors!

We are incredibly proud to announce that Makers Learning Schools (MLS) secured First Place 🥇at the "Science Day for a Sustainable Future 2026," hosted by Prince Sultan University.
In a highly competitive arena featuring 26 groundbreaking projects from 12 of Riyadh’s most prestigious schools, our students didn't just participate - they led the conversation on global sustainability and medical advancement.
The Innovations That Defined the Day:
Engineering for the Future (Grade 12): Our seniors engineered an Automated Solar Panel Cleaning System. They identified that current cleaning methods of solar panels require approximately 10 billion gallons of water annually. In addition, the abrasive brushes used also damage the sensitive mom-crystalline panels. Our students came up with a unique and innovative - waterless, sustainable, and cost-effective solution to this pressing issue. 👏 By utilizing an automated pressurized air pump system to eliminate sand shading, this project offers a scalable solution to maximize the renewable energy efficiency of solar panels in the Kingdom.
Its seamless alignment with Saudi Vision 2030 earned it the 1st prize of the competition! The Future of Medicine (Grades 10 & 11): Our young scientists explored the frontiers of biotechnology with STEM cell-based interventions aimed at treating Alzheimer’s and Dementia, receiving high praise for their research depth and scientific rigor.
The energy, brilliance, and sheer determination displayed by our students were nothing short of legendary. This victory reinforces our commitment to fostering a STEM-driven environment where students don't just learn about the world - they actively work to improve it.
