Parent Growth in Action: The Power of Perception

Last week, MLS hosted a meaningful Conscious Discipline workshop for parents titled “The Power of Perception,” led by Ms. Milena and Ms. Nazish, members of our Conscious Discipline Action Team. 

The session invited parents to reflect on how shifting the way we see a situation can transform the way we respond, helping us remain calm, connected, and supportive in our daily interactions with children. 

At MLS, we believe that what we teach in school can (and should) extend into our homes. By sharing these tools with families, we strengthen the connection between home and school, ensuring a consistent, nurturing approach that supports children’s emotional growth and well-being. 

“The parents seemed most engaged when they shared their own first-hand examples and we discussed them together. They really appreciated the open discussion that followed and the opportunity to exchange real experiences. They also enjoyed being given concrete strategies to handle specific situations", said Ms. Nazish 

Her reflection beautifully captures the purpose of these sessions: creating a space where parents feel supported, heard, and empowered with actionable tools they can use both at home and in everyday life.
