MLS came alive with the spirit of scientific inquiry today as students from Grade 6 through Grade 11 joined forces to unveil our massive, wall-mounted Interactive Periodic Table.
This collaborative project was designed to bridge the gap between abstract chemical symbols and their real-world applications. Each student took ownership of specific elements, meticulously researching and designing individual Element Cards.
To ensure scientific accuracy and consistency across the grades, every card featured: Proton Number (Atomic Number), Atomic Mass, and Real-World Uses.
From our youngest scientists in Grade 6 discovering the basics of Oxygen and Carbon, to our Grade 11 seniors diving into the complexities of transition metals and lanthanides, the project fostered a wonderful sense of peer mentorship and community.
The final assembly was a sight to behold. As the last cards were pinned into place, the wall transformed into a vibrant map of the building blocks of our universe. This display now serves as a permanent learning tool for the entire school, testament to the hard work, curiosity, and "elemental" talent of our MLS students!
