The MLS community came together for our Lavender Awareness Campaign, an initiative that promoted compassion, awareness, and wellbeing across our school. The campaign aligned with the national effort launched by Princess Reema bint Bandar Al-Saud, in partnership with 10KSA and the Ministry of Health, to raise awareness about cancer prevention, early detection, and the importance of healthy lifestyle practices.
This initiative also holds special meaning for MLS, as our school participated in the original 10KSA campaign ten years ago. Continuing this work reflects our ongoing commitment to community empowerment and health education.
Throughout the campaign, students engaged in purposeful activities:
To further strengthen the impact of the initiative, MLS hosted Lavender Awareness Day, bringing families together during morning drop-off.
The day began with students and parents arriving dressed in shades of purple and lavender, creating a sense of unity and shared purpose across the campus. Families gathered around the PTA Lavender Bake Sale and welcomed all our school family during drop-off; all proceeds were donated to Ehsan to support cancer patient treatment.
Nearby, representatives from the Saudi Cancer Organization engaged parents in meaningful conversations and provided helpful resources on cancer prevention and early detection. Together, these experiences offered learners and families a thoughtful opportunity to reflect, take action, and participate in community awareness, reinforcing the values at the heart of MLS: connection, compassion, responsibility, and learning with purpose.
Thank you to our students, families, PTA, and staff for their support and contributions. Together, we continue to strengthen our community and raise awareness united in lavender.
